MB Way is a Portuguese mobile payment system linked to users’ bank accounts, enabling instant payments via mobile numbers.
At checkout, users enter their phone number, receive a notification, and approve the transaction through the MB Way app. If they don’t have an account, they receive an SMS with a prompt to download the app and complete the payment.
MB Way counts half of Portuguese bank account holders as its customers and holds a 45% share of e-commerce transactions in the country.
